M. Daniel Cantor has gained notoriety in the New Jersey jurisprudence by way of his championing individual privacy rights in the field of New Jersey’s motor vehicle laws. Mr. Cantor’s advocacy has made new law in the form of several published opinions of New Jersey’s Appellate Division. Mr. Cantor argued the case of State of New Jersey vs. Edward Kadelak. In that case, Mr. Cantor presented a constitutional challenge to roadblocks known as “roadside safety checks” conducted by the New Jersey Division of Motor Vehicles, now known as the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission, and local police departments.
